Preliminary tasks
Camera Shots and Angles 9/10/25
My first preliminary task was for the different camera angles and shots she wanted us to find different videos that showed 2 different angels and shots and I think I did pretty well for my first task it was quite easy compared to the other tasks later on.
Composition 9/15/25
My second preliminary task was much harder we had to find an opening from a movie and look and identify the shots angles and really identify the meaning of the shots and how the audience is supposed to feel.
Technical Element of Sound 10/1/25
My third preliminary task was a bit more complicated than the others; we were told to give an example of each technical sound element given and the way it affected the sample of the sound, I would say that this was a good way to help us connect the meaning behind why they add specific sounds to a scene
Case Study 10/27/25
My fourth preliminary task was much easier, but I still messed it up a bit with a scene I used, what we were asked to do was to find a scene from our favorite movie or tv show and consider specific questions, the first one was what mood or atmosphere was created in the scene, the second one was how were the characters being represented, three was how was the audience encouraged to respond to the characters, and the last was how is mes-en-scène used to provide narrative information. The second direction was to do the same thing but with a consumer brand and adding how the product being represented and what value is being transferred to the audience.
Editing Part 1 10/31/25
My fifth preliminary task was the easiest out of all of them and was kind of fun, for this one we had to go to an online text page and follow the instructions in the book which told us to find a movie or tv show scene and clap at each time the scene switched and then talk to your shoulder partner to talk about how many times did we clapped for each sequence, how we felt whilst viewing the extracts, what impact we think the duration of shots can have on the audience, why do we think each sequence used shot duration differently, and what were the editor’s intentions.
Think Like A.... Film Editor 11/6/25
My sixth preliminary task was super easy but still challenging, we were asked to make a story board with a partner showing pictures of the theme we chose, this one was quite hard because we couldn't really find the pictures we wanted.
3.2 Narrative 1/23/26
My seventh preliminary task was most likely THE MOST hard out of all of these it took me a whole week just to finish it and what we had to do was go to our textbook and to all the sessions on there she assigned us to do it was kind of confusing at first but after a while I started to understand and after that the answers were easier to type
About me 12/18/25
This was my first task other than setting up my website which you could see in the starting page of my website. This took me multiple try's because I was either using copyright music or I was just spaced out all the time and sounding tired, but I somehow made a decent video so here's my about me if you haven't watched it already.
Final project Decisions 2/12/26
In my project I will be picking print as my main part of my project. Now the reason behind this, if you haven’t watched my about me, is because I am much more used to using words and typing to express myself more than me just talking about it myself without planning. I feel as if writing is the much better way of expressing my feelings and getting what I really want to say out there. The genre I have decided to pick for my print project is the cooking or culinary genre. The reason I have picked this genre is because I have gained an interest in learning how to cook and am going to major in it in the future. Having culinary skills in life would be great for real life and being able to take care of yourself while also gaining money from the profession and that is what most interested me in culinary, the food part mostly though, but it is what caught my eye so I will be making a print on it I don’t know what specifically to put in it but later on I will be adding more and more stuff to my project.
4.2 Reading Media Texts 3/2/26
This task was about choosing a five-minute extract from a TV show and after our first viewing, developing an outline of the content this task was quite easy since we just started learning about it so I still know what to do.
Activity 6.3 3/4/26
This task was made to help us learn more about researching and being in another persons shoes with perspective to give us a feel on how companies do things while also letting us add our opinion.
